I have purchased an ECOTANK printer
I have purchased an ECOTANK printer and my previous printer had durabright inks that were pigment type. the bottle inks are now dye type and unfortunately fade quickly. I have looked every ware but no joy for pigment bottles unless I pay a huge amount for a printer. Suppose that is progress for you. Otherwise printer is fine.

Ready Print is a SCAM
Purchased my WorkfForce 2845 in January.
Printing quality is not great and double sided feature causes frequent paper-jams. This is not even my reason for writing this negative review by the way.
A couple of weeks ago, I cancelled my Ready Print subscription because Epson kept sending me ink I did not need. They are supposed to track your usage but kept sending me ink despite the fact I did not need any. I have not put new ink into my printer because - why waste the ink already in my cartridges before I absolutely have to refill?
I noticed a printing error yesterday and got up this morning at 5AM to troubleshoot. Three hours later, having followed every bit of advice online from updating drivers to unplugging printer and everything in between, I came across an article titled "Epson payments snafu leaves subscribers unable to print" (google it, I am unable to insert a direct link). Essentially, a customer was locked out of his own printer because his payment for Ready Print had been declined. Epson are blaming NatWest and now this gent has essentially been left with a £400 doorstop.
Further online sleuthing revealed to me that Epson have previously come into fire for DISABLING their user's printers if they detect than non-espon ink has been used instead of their own branded inks.
Long story short, Epson have remotely DISABLED the printer which I bought with my own money all because I cancelled my Ready Print subscription due to a surplus of ink. Ironically, I intended to resume my subscription once I had used the ink they had sent me. However, Epson clearly have trust issues and thought I cancelled because I found cheaper ink elsewhere, so have taken action in this incredibly unethical and childish way.
How has this not been picked up by trading standards or similar? I am absolutely dumbfounded and incredibly frustrated.
To add insult to injury, their contact us page is absolutely dire. There is no contact number or email, making it very hard to actually speak to a human about your issues. I have decided to Tweet them instead and leave this review so that others do not fall into Epson's trap.
AVOID!

They won't let you use the ink you have paid for
I purchased an Epson Work Force Pro 3820. It was the worst decision. The print quality is poor. They are supposed to track your usage and then replace the ink that you have used when you pay a monthly subscription. In fact they did not track my usage and said I hadn't used the printer for 2 months. When I cancelled payments they remotely turned off my printer and told me to remove the ink that I had paid them for or resubscribe. This is blackmail to make you subscribe again. Do not trust this company.

After 1.5 hours with BT trying to get a new ET2800 set up we were getting "invalid" for everything we tried. I then phoned Epson who overcame the problem and he said he had to go and leave me to run the rest of the process which was intuitive and simple - it was not. Another call to BT and 30 min later we finally got it working having tried another 2 methods. Do not yet know how good it may be in operation. But the start was not pleasant.

Tries hard to lock you into overpriced ink
I have an Epson XP15000 photo printer. It tries very hard to force you to buy outrageously overpriced Epson inks, and goes into dumb obstruction with some perfectly compatible cartridges. The printing is good, but so it should be at about £4 an A4 photo.

I purchased the ET2800 to replace my old epson printer this is NOT Mac compatible you have to download the Epson software to make it work with you MacBook and it is USELESS with Apple mobile devices.
Would just like to return it to the retailer JLP (who sell it as Mac compatible) and purchase something else that is. Innovative product with USELESS software DONT buy one if you are an Apple user

Aweful
Aweful. Please never ever buy an epson printer. They are so bad. You just pour money into buying printer cartridges that you can never use.
One star is too many
One star is too many. There are some truly rubbish printers about but thisEpson XP is the worst. I am an artist with a house full of ink, totally handy, as capable at refilling plastic cartridges as topping up my palette with oil paint or refilling my fountain pen or indeed the petrol tank on my car. How, as a society, we dont call this out for the scam that it is I dont understand and I guess we will soon enough as behaviour of this kind by corporations increasingly is recognised for the environmental crime that it is. Far from not buying another Epson printer, I feel inlined to take legal advice against them. A terrible unethical unenvironmental company, stay away from them.
Epson ET2820 and W11
Recently bought an Epson ET2820. My precious printer, Brother, had died of old age, but linked to my Windows laptop with no problems at all. The Epson has been a disaster. Nothing works properly, and there seems to be no way of getting any useful assistance. Apparently I am not alone. Lots seem to be having the same issues. Frustrated beyond words. Will NEVER go near Epson products again.

Totally disgusted by Epson's chat service. The Ink Pad Needs Service - I replaced the maintenance box widely available online for the ET-2750 and it wont reset. Epson say its no serviceable which is total rubbish as it just unscrews and you replace it with T04D1 and say you have to get it serviced. Ridiculous!
If I could give it a negative 1000
If I could give it a negative 1000, I would. Worthless, scam of ink, needs resetting every time you print something, probably designed by a pot-smoking high school failure,no idea how to make something. Has an app for everything from unboxing the package to how to buy ink, just doesnt work when you actually want it to do the job. Worthless worthless worthless worthless!!!

I am not surprised to read so many negative reviews about Epson. Since I have it I have only troubles. Any time I need to use it I need to download endless updates, the cartridges are expensive (£25 for one cartridge and I payed the printer £65). Is just great hastle in any way. This will be the last Epson I am buying. I highly don't recomend this printer.
